Conflict between Senasa and Santa Ana Poultry Company: expectations for the result of the third bird flu sample

This morning the team of the National Service of Health and Agri-Food Quality (Senasa) took the avian flu sample at the Santa Ana farm in Corrientes and the results will be available tomorrow.

Federal Court of First Instance No. 2 of Corrientes determined a third sample after the controversial two samples which were carried out and generated crosses between Senasa and poultry.

The analysis was carried out by the internationally accredited Senasa laboratory. But also from the company they made their own test which they took to a laboratory.

Furthermore, the court established to maintain the ban on establishment ordered by Senasa “for reasons of prevention and protection of public health, until Thursday at 12, the date on which the ban on establishment ordered by the Justice ends.

Given this measure, the poultry farm cannot mobilize the production, which prohibits the sale or donation of the goods.

This Saturday a video made by the poultry farm went viral when it showed some 360,000 eggs they cannot market and store due to lack of maintenance.

Avícola Santa Ana is a family business dedicated to the production and marketing of poultry products. It is located in the town of Corrientes, on provincial road 43, produces 450,000 eggs a month and supplies the domestic market. It employs 300 people.
