As part of the package of measures to contain inflation, the Government will create a new superstructure to monitor online price mark-ups throughout the value chain. Regard the Observatory, Traceability of Commercial Operationswhich will concentrate information from various public organizations (including Customs, the Central Bank, AFIP, the Secretariats of Commerce and Production and the National Securities Commission) detect and “correct” excessive increases in inputs, intermediate goods and finished items of all kinds.

Official sources highlighted clarion that the details of this “table that will centralize all the information” will be known tomorrow with a resolution, as well as the official who will be in charge of the office. In any case, they advanced that goal is to react quickly “to the detection of price distortions”. More specifically, in Economics they argue for it some companies buy and produce “in the official dollar, but when they sell, it’s in the blue dollar”.

According to the press release, the objective of this working group (which “will have an executive area made up of a representative of each entity”) is to coordinate all available information, i.e. it will act as a “Big Brother”, whose function will be that of “monitoring the operations of buying and selling goods and services in domestic and foreign trade, promoting commercial operations fairly and avoiding dominant positions; verify the traceability of the goods exchanged and the correct taxation at each stage; guide the consumer on the basis of the variables obtained in the monitoring process”.

In the government they believe that in this way they will be able to identify themselves overflows in remarking prices in any link of the production chain of the products offered on the market. “The owners of the intervening jurisdictions will analyze the connected information on a daily basis and will order the necessary measures”, which have not been specified. Sources in the economics team did not provide further details. But they recalled that this is only one of the measures discussed yesterday to counter the inflationary escalation of recent weeks.
