Wholesale inflation rose 6.9% in April

The overall level of Internal Wholesale Price Index (IPIM) registered to 6.9% increase in April of 2023 compared to the previous month. This variation is a consequence of the 6.7% increase in “Domestic Products” and 9.2% in “Imported Products”, as reported on Wednesday by the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses.

This number comes after it was reported last Friday that retail inflation for April was 8.4%.

On the other hand, the general level of the basic domestic wholesale price index (IPIB) recorded an increase of 7.1% in the same period. In this case the variation is explained by the increase of 6.9% of “National Products” and of 9.1% of “Imported Products”.

Likewise, the general level of the Basic Index of Producer Prices (PPI) recorded an increase of 6.9% in the same period, as a result of the 7.2% increase in “Primary products” and the 6.7% of “manufacturing and electrical products”. power”.
