Eduardo Eurnekian received this Tuesday the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of the UADE, for his entrepreneurial career and contributions to education and culture.
“Over many years, I have developed what I consider a noble career: ‘Be an Entrepreneur’. I have dabbled, at various stages of my life, in manufacturing, construction, energy, communications, transportation, services. I did and I continue to do it today,” Eurnekian said in his speech, after deeming the distinction “an honour”.
“I take the liberty of interpreting this recognition as the fruit of a career in which I was able to launch myself core values. Values that have been more important than mere economic success. The pursuit of excellence, innovation, full respect for others, responsibility, vision of the future, solidarity, demand, quality, concern, perseverance, globality,” he added.
Eurnekian heads Corporación América, the holding company that controls Aeropuertos Argentina 2000, which also has investments in technology, mining, energy, services and agro-industry, among other areas.
“I am convinced that Argentina needs more and better education. There is a path that one travels, which may be that of mediocrity, but study centers like this are tackling the problems of the future, such as artificial intelligence and the challenge of our own creativity”, he declared on receiving the award.
“Knowledge is the greatest engine of progress of people, businesses, societies and countries,” he remarked.
The act took place in the University Auditorium and the laudatio was pronounced by the doctor, academic and entrepreneur Jorge Aufierowhich years ago had received the same award from UADE.
Also present were the president of the Argentine Industrial Union (UIA), Daniel Funes of Rioja; the holder of the IRSA, Eduardo Elztain; the president of the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange, Adelmo Gabbi, and the national deputy Facundo Manèsamong other personalities.
