New measures: for AEA the Milei government is a “historic opportunity”

“The start of the new government generates hope that our country can reverse a long period characterized by economic stagnation, very high inflation rates and a very significant increase in poverty.” The powerful Argentine Business Association (AEA) stated this in a statement.

“Rightly, the government of President Javier Milei has focused on two central points that explain this poor performance: the excessive size of the State in relation to GDP, and the very negative consequences that deficits have had for long decades in public accounts”, he added.

The Association, which re-elected Jaime Campos as president, declared: “We also particularly appreciate the government’s preparation adopt measures that allow maximum development of the private sector, subjected for years to undue state interference, price controls, extremely high fiscal pressures, arbitrary restrictions on foreign trade and threats such as the Supply Law.”

And he concludes: “At AEA we are convinced that the elimination of these anomalies is the revaluation of the private sector desired by the government, will result in a larger iproductive investmentsin employment growth and increased exports, all crucial aspects to put Argentina back on the path to sustained economic and social development.”
