THE monthly fees and billing parameters of monotax workers would increase by 110.90% from January 1st compared to current values, as confirmed by AFIP on its website.

The increase corresponds to the increase of pension mobility which during this year has shown that percentage, a lot below inflation it is expected to exceed 200%.

For example, a single tax payer in category E (services) will go from paying a fee of 12,776.61 dollars to 26,945.972 dollars (+110.9%). But if you have to upgrade, the fee would be $33,137.45 (+159.36%).

To fall into the lowest category, A, the turnover must be less than 2,108,288 pesos, while the income of the highest category (K) rises to $16,957,968.

At the time of the January recategorization many single tax earners should move up a levelwhich implies a further increase in the quota, or transition to the general regime simply because they would have billed in nominal terms more than the balance adjustment.

On the other hand, The AFIP has suspended the “full right” exclusions until December 31st originated from the increase in invoicing by taxpayers which exceeds the parameters established up to that date.

Now the collection agency should do it clarify whether this provision is applicable for taxpayers who exceed the billing limits with respect to the parameters that will be in force from 1 January 2024.

It remains to be seen what will happen with the promise made by the previous government to forgive the payment of the tax component to the lowest categories of the Monotributo, suspended in the months from September to December.

The September and October installments have been moved to March 20, 2024 and the November and December installments to April 22, 2024.

In this way, once the compensation has been paid, these single-tax workers will certainly have to cancel the debt incurred with some extra chargeas an interest rate.
