“The Central Bank of the Republic of Argentina (BCRA) will put into circulation banknotes of 10,000 and 20,000 dollars during this year,” the institution announced in a statement.

However, it was made clear in a savings plan that existing projects will be used. And they announced which “Heroines and Heroes of the Homeland” had been chosen to illustrate them.

The 10,000 dollar bill will have on the obverse the images of Manuel Belgrano and María Remedios del Valle, heroine of the War of Independence.

The $20,000 bill will have a libertarian feel. It will carry Juan Bautista Alberdi, inspirer of the National Constitution of 1853 and one of Javier Milei’s favorite heroes. His portrait will be on the front.
