With the intention of transforming the income tax into the disguised “personal income tax”, the government made – in the last minutes of this Tuesday – the announcement to send the tax reform to Congress, which reverses the change made by the former Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa.

The published rule bears the signature of his successor, Luis Caputo, of the head of cabinet Nicolás Posse and of the president Javier Milei. However, Congress has not announced its receipt and assumes that, for the time being, formal registration will take place on Wednesday morning at the ticket office.

Among the main innovations, the project demotes the minimum tax base for dependent workers to a gross salary of 1,250,000 dollars.

The official text is captured in a curious format. It is addressed to the Legislative Power, presupposing its approval and almost as if it were the decree that should implement the law.

“The Senate and the Chamber of Deputies of the Argentine Nation, gathered in Congress,… (sic) sanction with the force of law”, headlines the text, which begins its articles with exceptions, such as “profits from investments – including currencies digital-“, which will not be counted for the tax calculation.
