In a reality of thin pockets in which Argentines often They define their consumption based on offers and promotions. SMEs do not escape, in their own way, this very complicated panorama. Considering that there is a market where promotions point the way to the consumer, a group of entrepreneurs has designed an application that aims to give small and medium-sized businesses the possibility of participating in the “promo” competition.
Loybox is an application that allows small and medium-sized businesses in the country toCreate your own points and rewards system. It is usually known as a system loyalty Of customers. These systems usually bring multiple benefits to any business or company. These include increasing revenue, improving customer retention, and optimizing customer lifetime.
This scoring system is used by large commercial chains, from bars to airlines. The problem that SMEs face is access to the development of this type of applications.
To build this application privately, companies had to pay for the development of your own software and maintain it for years. To stay competitive some companies resorted to the old fashioned way with cardboard and stamps, but this was impractical because the customer had to always have the cardboard with them. With this application all you need is your phone.
Laybox is a mobile application which, by paying a monthly subscription, allows SMEs to create an account, identify their business – including colour, name and logo – and Determine the types of rewards you want to offer your customers.
Customers who wish can download the application, create an account and thus obtain a code. Using this code, store cashiers will be able to add points based on consumption. In this case, the amount of money spent in the store will give points to the customer. These points can then be exchanged for rewards offered by the company.
The customer will be able to have all the points of all the participating businesses he frequents in the same application. Each company manages their points separately, but this gives an advantage of convenience and practicality to this promotional market.
The APP was launched in December last year and three SMEs took the lead. The first was a cafe called Liberica. This bar has two branches, one located a block from UADE, where the creators of the APP study. The second is a Barber shop which also has two branches. And finally, another bar will start using the app in February.
Who are the creators?
The application was developed by five computer engineering students by UADE. They are all between 20 and 21 years old. Facundo Pedaccio, Sofia Celeste Lussoro, Juan Ignacio Boiko, Ignacio Prados and Federico Fernando Solanes are the names of the founders.
It was Facundo Pedaccio who had the idea to develop the application. According to him, “the idea came to me while I was chatting with my uncle who wanted to prepare a specialty coffee. That’s when I started thinking about things that could make this cafe stand out from the others.”
In his desire to help his uncle, he thought of a points and benefits system designed for small and medium-sized businesses. “Immediately after I had the idea I told Ignacio about it. He is a very trusted friend and apart from that, we had already made an app together”.
In 2022, Ignacio Pados and Facundo Pedaccio developed an application that Helped students upload notes and access others. This application has been working for a few months, reaching more than 900 users. But, due to conflicts with the faculty, they had to close it.
Thanks to this application, users with UADE emails could enter a system which, once they had selected the degree course they belonged to, showed the notes uploaded by other students. These notes have been filtered by race and specific topic. The notes were rated by users from 1 to 10 in terms of quality. In turn, users could upload notes, categorizing them into which specific career and topic they belonged to.
In the case of LoyBox http://loybox.com.ar/, Ignacio and Facundo started the development of the app. Then they added the others. According to Facundo “we were all friends of the faculty. Our bond has improved a lot with LoyBox and we have learned a lot.”
