Luis Caputo announced on Friday that the Government will withdraw the fiscal measures of the omnibus law. “We found in this dialogue that in the last few weeks we had a clear consensus on what is the most important part of the law, which is these 500-plus chapters that have to lay the foundation. “We don’t want this fiscal chapter to delay something that we consider urgent and necessary and which is what we want to show to the world, that change that everyone is watching,” added the minister.

His appearance had been announced only an hour earlier by the government. It also happened after a week in which Milei management managed to pass the majority opinion of the omnibus law Deputies and in which the Minister of Economy put strong pressure on the governors to ask for the approval of the law on the spot next week.

Caputo’s strong sentence to the governors

On Wednesday, a few hours after the governing party had managed to approve the majority opinion on the Omnibus bill, Caputo had issued a harsh warning to the governors: “The allocations to the Provinces will be immediately cut if any of the articles are rejected.”

“Today I had a meeting with the Secretary of the Treasury and the Undersecretary of Provinces to outline all the provincial items that will be cut immediately if any of the economic items are rejected,” the Economy Minister said, after the proposal was approved. official ruling with the dissenters of the omnibus bill.
