On Monday, transport companies asked in the second hearing to analyze electricity tariffs an income readjustment of up to 255.7%which they believe it could have an impact on the final rate not exceeding 3.8%. Furthermore, they demand monthly and automatic updating and that there be no delays in payments made to them by the Wholesale Electricity Market Management Company (Cammesa).
These requests were made in the second public hearing called by the National Energy Regulatory Body (ENRE), as a preliminary step to the tariff adjustments that the Ministry of Energy will adopt.
Last Friday the first meeting took place in which distribution companies participated, such as for example Edenor and Edesur they made their defense. The first for example He asked for an increase that would mean an 80% increase in AMBA users’ final bill.
In the case of distribution represents approximately 25% of the final invoice amount.
Then to the increases in the distribution and transport phases those resulting from cuts to subsidies must be added which the State grants to the generation phase and which the Undersecretary for Energy Planning, Mariela Beljansky, has defined as “scandalous”.
Since the participation of transport does not exceed 1.5% in the price of the electricity service bill, its incidence is the lowest in comparison with those that have generation and distribution, to which the tax component must be added.
The eight companies attending the hearing agreed to highlight the delay in the evolution of their income remuneration, which over the last four years has been on average half of inflation.
For this reason, They requested a revenue readjustment before the implementation of the comprehensive tariff revision (RTI) which must begin on 1 January 2025.
Regarding the resulting values, they asked for the application of a monthly and automatic update index, taking into account that Cammesa’s average payment period is approximately 60 days and, in this regard, they also asked that the company not suffer delays for such disbursements.
The breakdown by company of the requested readjustments and the consequent percentage increase is as follows:
- Transener: 256,349 million dollars, equivalent to one 209% increase.with an impact on the final rate of approximately 3.1%
- Smash it: 29,265 million dollars (249% and an incidence close to 3.7%)
