As announced, the Government has decided to increase electricity starting from February and to postpone the increase in gas until later. The increase will concern the N1 level, the one with the highest income or the one who has canceled the subsidy. The rest of the users, at the medium and low levels, will not see changes in their tickets.
With resolution 7/2024 the Ministry of Energy established a increase in the seasonal price of energy (PESTS) between February and April. This increase is approximately 110% and would have a 50% impact on bills. But, at the same time, the rule also provides for 5-fold increases in power, which will be transferred 100% to bills received in two months.
In reality, to know for sure what the final increase in bills will be, the ENRE must take these values and apply them to the final bill.
The ENRE must also incorporate in the increases published today the Value Added Distribution (VAD), which corresponds to the income of distributors such as Edenor and Edesur. The one is calculated between the two increases They will have a 350% impact on N1 consumers’ bills.
According to the resolution, while in February 2019 the seasonal price covered 79% of the monomic price of the wholesale electricity market, in November 2023 this value dropped to 57%.
