The Government has announced the decision to reduce subsidies to public transport companies throughout the country. The measure provides for the elimination of the Internal Compensation Fund, whose millionaire sums were received by the provinces.

From now on, as announced, official aid will pass through SUBE and will be reserved only for beneficiaries of the social tariff, which provides a 55% discount.

“The Ministry of Transport decided this freezing of the final tariff which it had inherited from the previous management of trains and buses in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA) for the National Jurisdiction lines, thus giving greater prominence to the tariff in covering the costs necessary for operation. Therefore, this measure implies a significant decrease in subsidies for businesses,” the portfolio specifies.
