Prices above inflation. Last year, the EFE/Elvis González average increased 0km
The Government will increase from 3.77 million pesos to $ 4.3 million the ceiling at which zero kilometer vehicles must pay the first dimension of internal taxes.
This way, when this tax amount is updated, some models whose price is now in the limit below that tax, will be able to raise their price by more than 15% without the risk of falling behind. market.
An example of this scenario is a national car, the Chevrolet Cruze, made out of Rosario. According to the current price list at the end of April, all five versions of that model are equally priced at $ 3.7 million.
It is almost impossible to find a model with five sets, or more, where they all have the same price. But in this case, the magic was not produced by the company’s commercial policy, but by the Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP).
The collecting body determines that the cars are above the factory value of $ 2,648.00, that is equivalent to a retail price of approximately $ 3,770,000, must also pay an aliquot of 20% for being sumptuary or “luxury” goods.
That 20%, when applied to various vehicle taxes, will have an impact on the final price of 25%. For this reason, in car companies they consider that they are “out of place” in the market and avoid price increases when the car approaches the limit.
According to Ambito Financiero, now that the limit on the first size (there is another) will be raised from $ 2,648,000 to $ 3,016,000 at the beginning of June. Once the different sales margins have been applied, the new limit is at $ 4.3 million, 15% higher. It will take effect between June 1 and August 31.
For now, “capped” models will no longer be able to top the new price lists for May. On the other hand, other models that have not reached that limit, or those that have crossed here since leaving the factory, periodically rise between 4% and 5% per month, for at least 18 months. .
During 2021, the average increase in zero kilometer vehicles is 70%, nearly 20 percentage points above inflation, according to a survey by the Association of Automotive Dealers (ACARA).
Other national models, such as the Volkswagen Taos, have already left the factory with a price preventing them from avoiding this tax. With a price list ranging from 5.9 million pesos (Comfortline) to $ 7.4 million (Hero), the Pacheco factory devotes most of its production to export: very few Taos units see them circulating in Argentina, they sell more at 500 per month, despite the fact that it is made here.
In addition to the first dimension of internal taxes, there is also a second dimension determined by AFIP for units that exceed a wholesale price of $ 4,889,000, which is around the $ 8 million final price and will now be raised to a wholesale price of $ 5,568,000.
In this case, since the rate is 35%, the final price rises by 50%. It ends in a peso value full of zeros which usually ends in a negotiation between the client and the dealer.
