“I will not take any measures against producers or agricultural workers,” Pablo Zurro, the ultra-Kirchnerist mayor of Pehuajó, declared this weekend regarding the draft ordinance promoted by the bloc of councilors of his own party, Unión por la Patria. (Unión por la Patria).UxP), which proposes the refilling of two liters of diesel per hectare applied with plant protection products. So Zurro, current vice president of the Patria Institute and one of its founders, leaves to distance himself from the proposal of the K councilors which has generated a great controversy among producers, applicators, technicians, operators and ruralists of the district.
“Regarding the regulation of the application of plant protection products in the district of Pehuajó: until now there is no project sent or suggested by me, much less one that bears my signature. I I have not presented or promoted any projectAND much less one that includes a tax” Zurro remarked. And he clarified that he is preparing a draft ordinance that will reflect his position on the issue and “will try to collaborate to generate a consensus”, which he will present to the Council in the coming days.
According to him, his project “will propose in the fairest way possible for the use of plant protection products for production in the district of Pehuajó, without harming the health of any neighbors, respecting the court order.”
Zurro underlined that”no costs of any kind will be charged” and that the objective of the proposal will be “to encourage and promote good agricultural practices (GAP), valorising producers who take care of their community responsibly”.
Likewise, it will establish “Penalties for irresponsible appswith severe fines and appropriate charges in court.”
It will also include the creation of an observatory to study the application of plant protection products in meeting and monitoring people who report having physical or health consequences from these actions.
“I undertake that, if the ordinance provides for a tax, I will use the partial veto power granted to me by the Organic Law of the Municipalities, so that it will be IMPOSSIBLE TO IMPLEMENT any TAX,” Zurro wrote.
“I have always been on the side of production and work, and I also took care of the health of the Pehuajense. I take charge of what I do, what I think and what I think. But I cannot take responsibility for myself .indictment of the falsehoods, defamations and lies that have proliferated with discord and outright malice in recent days,” the UxP official said.
