Coca-Cola Andina invests 30 million dollars to reopen a factory in Mendoza

THE Andean Coca-Cola Company put back into operation its factory in the city of Godoy Cruz in Mendozaan initiative that will generate around 200 jobs and asked investment of 30 million dollars.

The Ministry of Commerce has approved the purchase of a new production line through the regime of import of components of goods of large investment projects. “With the new management the times for completing the procedures have been accelerated.“, they underlined from the company.

This new line for filling drinks in returnable packaging, set up where until now there was only a tank, was born from the the company’s decision to expand its presence in Cuyo, as the company’s deputy director of foreign trade, Leandro Ariano, explains.

The new line will be available in the second half of the year and will offer drinks in 2-litre and 2.50-litre returnable packs and 1.25-litre glass packs.

Likewise, they had expressed pride “for this investment, which reaffirms the commitment to consumerswith particular attention to returnable containers, our packaging is more sustainable.”

Coca Cola Andina currently makes half of its sales volume in returnable containers and is the only company in the soft drinks market with this type of presentation.

In addition to being a cheaper option, this type of bottle contributes to caring for the environment by reusing and reducing the use of production factors.

The Import Regime for Goods Components of Large Investment Projects (known as Regime 256) establishes the payment of 0% import duties for all new goods that are part of new complete and self-contained production lines, and its exception upon payment of the destination verification fee.

This is a promotional incentive addressed to encourage investment in order to increase the competitiveness of industrialized products through the incorporation of cutting-edge technologies.
