Retirees and pensioners will receive a nominal increase due to the current mobility formula, that increase translates into 27.18% more. And to this we must also add the $70,000 bonus that beneficiaries who have the lowest assets will receive. In this way, the government seeks to ensure that no pensioner receives less than $204,445 in March.
This is established in Article 1 of the regulation The minimum amount will be $134,445.30, but with the bonus the sum will rise to $204,445. Those who receive a lower amount will receive an additional prorated amount until that threshold is reached. And those above that value won’t get the extra benefit.
It is important to clarify that beneficiaries with assets under $204,445 will receive a prorated bonus until this amount is reached. So, for example, a retiree with assets of $150,000 will not receive the full bonus, but just over $54,000, until that threshold is reached.
Meanwhile, according to Article 2 of the Resolution, The maximum assets will be $904,689.54.
With these values, the minimum assets will have a loss of purchasing power of 33% compared to March 2023. And those who have not collected and will not collect the bonus, the loss rises to 44% in 12 months.
