But will they from now on have to contribute 20% of the value of their membership fees to the Redistribution Fund which finances expensive and highly complex treatments?

– Our analysis is based on the assumption that 15% is discounted from the derivation of the contributions we already receive, i.e. the largest contribution would be 5 points, which is more than compensated by the savings on the brokerage commission. And we must contribute 20% of the contributions to an Overcoming Plan even if we are not registered in the Registry, so the economic advantages in terms of payment remain to be considered.

-Have you considered that you should give the same coverage to both low- and high-wage workers?

-Even if we believe that there is a lack of regulation from an internal point of view, this would be the operation. With contributions and contributions, affiliate-partners would be covered by the PMO (Mandatory Medical Program) as currently in Obra Social and our provider network. If the contribution is equal to the amount of our Superior Line Plans, the member has the option to upgrade to a Superior Plan without paying any supplement and according to the conditions and providers included in it. And if the member does not cover an Override Plan with his contributions, he can contract it by paying the differential.

According to Rafael Martinez, “this possibility of increasing the value of contributions is an advantage for prepaid companies in competition with social works, which cannot increase their prices, since they are limited by the 9% ceiling on remunerations, which establishes the law n. 23,660 on Social Works”. .
