Lucero is a lawyer specializing in mining, natural resources law and with extensive experience in project financing, corporate matters, arbitration and complex litigation.
Lucero graduated in law from the University of Buenos Aires; He obtained a Master’s Degree in Commercial Law from the Universidad Argentina de la Empresa, and then followed various specialization courses and seminars, including those held on government policy and corporate strategy in the mining sector at the University of Dundee; in Negotiation from Harvard Law School; in foundations of organizational science from both Columbia Business School and the University of Cambridge. Lucero also holds a Master of Arts, with distinction, from University College London (UCL).
“A former partner of the Marval O’Farrell Mairal law firm and, previously, of very important law firms in the country, he also worked as a foreign law consultant at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman in the United States and held positions on the boards of directors of directors and supervisory committees of various mining, gas distribution, industrial and financial companies”, specified the portfolio led by Luis Caputo in a statement released on Monday.
He further explained that Lucero has spoken at various national and international institutions on topics related to the mining industry and project financing, highlighting the Center for Energy, Petroleum, Mineral Law and Policy, University of Dundee, where he was appointed Honorary Lecturer for the period of October 2010. starting from September 2013; the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation; and the United States Geological Survey.
