The John Deere company has announced that in April it will inaugurate important works at the plant in Las Rosas, Santa Fe, which will allow them to increase the production capacity of sprayers and seeders by 50%.after an investment of 15 million dollars.
The president of John Deere Industries Argentina, Sergio Fernandezhighlighted that the investment in PLA exceeds 15 million dollars and is part of a ambitious investment programs that the company developed in Argentina. “Over the past 10 years, John Deere has invested approximately $265 million. And our vision for 2028 is to sustain this pace,” he said.
The investment in Pla concerned new constructions within the plant, painting and assembly lines, improvements in processes, systems and logistics.
John Deere has been manufacturing continuously in Argentina for over 65 years. “The inauguration of this investment in the PLA is a new milestone for the company this once again reinforces our idea of continuing to support the country’s production and development and of continuing to challenge people to join a new agricultural cycle through the use of technology and process optimization,” concluded Sebastián Malamud, General Manager of PLA by John Deere.
The company’s production activities take place in three plants: tractors, combines, platforms and engines (John Deere brand) in Granadero Baigorria, Santa Fe; sprayers and seeders (PLA brand by John Deere) in Las Rosas, Santa Fe; and carbon fiber bowsprits (King Agro brand) in Campana, Buenos Aires.
John Deere claims to be the only company in Argentina that produces the main equipment necessary for the production cycle: tractors, harvesters, seeders and sprayers. And in turn, its engine plant is the main engine supplier for all of the company’s plants in South America (7 plants in total). The company has more than 3,200 direct employees across its factories and a network of exclusive resellers present in more than 100 locations across the country and has 1,200 national suppliers of materials and services, being recognized as the leading exporter and employer in the sector manufacturing Agricultural equipment.
