“Caputo’s extraordinary task and Milei’s enormous courage”: politicians’ reactions to March inflation

The ruling party celebrated this Friday the inflation rate of 11% for March, according to data published this afternoon by the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INDEC). José Luis Expert He congratulated the Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo, and Javier Milei, who he highlighted respectively for their “technical work” and their “political courage”. Starting from radicalism, they made a comparison with the “legacy” of Alberto Fernández and launched a call for dialogue.

On the government side, Espert was one of the first to speak out, praising the management of Caputo as head of the Treasury, Finance Minister Pablo Quirno and Santiago Bausili, who is currently head of the Central Bank.

“The fight is not only against inflation, it is also for the Argentines. Lowering inflation and at the same time the living standards of the middle class and the most disadvantaged does not seem to be the right path. The previous government made a mess , people can’t stand another one,” said the former governor of Salta.

From the left, the first to demonstrate was Nicolás del Caño, who frontally criticized the economic management of Milei and Caputo.

The deputy of the Frente de Izquierda Unidad spoke of the “brutal recession that affects workers, small traders and all the people who suffer because of the chainsaw and the blender in their income.” And he didn’t miss the opportunity to also talk about the delay in salaries: “Milei has released all the prices in recent months except the salary, which is being ironed out.”
