The 160,000 nationally retired teachers are fun. In March they received an increase of 9.38%. And now they need to wait until september to receive the next increase.

Unlike the general regime, retired teachers have a special system, with half year increasein March and September, linked to the salaries of assets contributing to ANSeS capturing calendar semesters.

Last year, due to rising inflation, the Government did not wait until March 2022 and in December it gave an increase of 14.61% on account or as an advance of the next increase.

Now the same delay is repeated, exacerbated by higher inflation. So. the same standard is expected to apply for Junewhich promotes the portion of the increase to be given in September to moderate retirement loss.

The same criteria should apply to retired university teachers.

Retired teachers are accumulating, end to end, over 4 years- between 2018 and 2021- loss of 17% in the face of rising prices, the strong decline of 2018/2019 will hardly recover in 2020/21.

The order is:

• In 2018, retired teachers received two increases to a total of 22.3%, compared to inflation of 47.6%. A decrease of 17.1%.

• In 2019 the increase was 49.3% and inflation was 53.8%. A loss of 2.9%.

• In 2020 there was a slight recovery: the increase in teachers was 40.8% compared to inflation of 36.1%. An improvement of 3.4%.

• In 2021, with the advance, the increase will be 50.6% compared to inflation of 50.9%. A decrease of 0.3 points.

The diversity of increases for teachers is due to the fact that the sector pension law establishes that active workers add two more points (13% of salary) and they retired with 82% mobile corresponding to the position they had in the activity.

To determine increases for retirees, the Social Security Secretariat calculates the half-year variation of salaries of active teachers with contributions to ANSeS, the so -called “Average Teacher Taxable Remuneration” (RIPDOC).

For teacher retirement, 82% apply to mobile. Women retire at 57 years old and men at 60 years old, if at least they have been managing students for 10 years.
