Martín Redrado was back on the scene earlier, as they were running rumors about a possible government post. This Sunday he admitted that he maintains a dialogue with Cristina Kirchner and has always been too cruel when it comes to economic policy under the direction of Martín Guzmán from the Ministry of Economy.

This Sunday night, talking to All News, consulted the economist if the vice president offered him the position. “No, too much was said,” he maintained, though he acknowledged that keep the dialogue to whoever became president while he was in charge of the Central Bank.

Redrado remembered that after a meeting that he was with the leader Javier Timerman he told her: ‘It would be nice if the vice president would listen to your ideas.’ “From there with punctual dialogue (with Cristina Kirchner) at some questions, particular topics of interest, but as there are in all leaders. Now opposition leaders, legislators, governors, mayors are asking me for dialogue, ”the economist acknowledged, boasting of his agenda.

“Right now, Argentina needs, and above all economists be above the crack suggests concrete, practical solutions such as for the problem of inflation and lack of growth ”, he added.

In these lines, he suggested that “a structure of law which must have passed Congress “and given as an example”change the charter of the Central Bank so that it finances the Treasury less and the Treasury develops new forms of financing ”.

Moreover, he analyzed the need to “lower the exchange rate gap ceiling by generating more foreign currency supply, incentives for sectors that can expand foreign currency supply. For example: hydrocarbons.”

Regarding inflation, he argued that “without a doubt this (the problem) is more troubling in the short term.”

“In this quarter, where Central is supposed to be accumulating reserves, because Argentina has a good chance for bad reasons, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine gives us a trail of price for what Argentina is doing higher and higher, the field has liquidated it in. four and a half months it is 11.2 billion dollars in the Central Bank; it is 14% more than what fixed last year, ”he states in context.

But he noted that “however Central is adding reserves by $ 400 million when in the same period last year it rose by 3.2 billion “.

What does Redrado think about Guzmán?

Asked about his opinion about Martín Guzmán, Redrado avoided referring specifically to the economist. “I don’t want to do anything criticizing peoplebut in politics. People are passing by, “he said.

However, it is very difficult when qualifying for the course of economic policy led by the Minister of Economy during the administration of Alberto Fernández.

The rules are bad, the results are bad. Let’s get it any indicator, inflation, poverty, inequality problems, income distribution, exports that grow only because of price and not because greater export capacity is created. New markets are not opening up ”, he indicated and explained that“ the economy is rebounding. There is a difference between growth and rebound.

“For the economy to grow, it must have economic policy which encourages consumptioninvestment, with specific incentives, tax incentives, credit and increases exports with an international import policy that is not in Argentina ”, considered Redrado.

Meanwhile, he assessed that for “any professional who can have some degree of success” in the Ministry of Economy ”needs an economic program that covers all areas of economic policy, a cheap team to implement it and laws of Congress of the ruling party and of the opposition ”.
