Vaca Muerta: YPF has met with international oil companies in search of investments

As the Government seeks to speed up the gas pipeline that will discharge gas to Vaca Muerta, the YPF came out to tempt investors to build the Neuquén megafield.

The top executives of the state oil company met this Thursday with representatives of large oil companies at a meeting that took place at the US embassy within the framework of the celebrations for the centenary of the Argentine company.

The discussion aims to examine investment prospects in the oil and gas that exists in the country.

The meeting was attended by Argentina’s ambassador to the United States, Jorge Argüello, YPF president Pablo González, and the company’s CEO, Sergio Affronti.

Among the listeners were representatives of the United States government, the American Council, and companies such as Chevron, Exxon, Italian ENI, DOW Chemical, Baker and Nabors, as well as market analysts and investors.

Prior to this presentation, Pablo González and YPF representatives conducted a work agenda with Vice President of the Council of AmericaEric Farnsworth; and representatives from various political parties. They also met with Harry Kamian, deputy secretary of the National Office of Energy Resources.

YPF presented the investment insights that are opening up in the country based on the results obtained by the company especially in Vaca Muerta.

The production of unconventional crude showed a 52% growth while unconventional gas production increased by 140% when compared to the first quarter of the year to the same period last year.

The energy transfer agenda and YPF plans to advance the emission reduction through efficiency in the production of hydrocarbons and promoting the production of renewable energies through YPF Luz and Y-TEC.
