The rate of urban passenger transport in the cities of Rosario, Santa Fe and Cordoba will increase from Monday by 17%, and so the ticket cost is $ 69.50, the municipalities of said districts reported on Friday. The difference in the price of passenger public transport in the metropolitan region is not good. At AMBA, bus tickets are in between 18 and 21 pesos.

This difference in prices is a source of disagreement between the national government and the provinces, who complain about growing budget items -subsidies- scattered throughout the city of Buenos Aires and Greater Buenos Aires to keep prices very low. prices.

Subsidies for public passenger transport are estimated at approximately $ 3,800 million, according to consulting firm Equilibra.

The municipalities of the three cities mentioned indicated that the same percentage increase would be applied to the three cities by the decision of their respective mayors to agree. “manage the arrival of more national subsidies that allow unlocking of interior parity and guarantee the operation of the service”, indicated sources.

For the mayors of these three large urban centers, the ticket increase “is at the bottom of the inflationary process which the country is going through and despite the still unresolved inequality in the distribution of national subsidy in relation to AMBA ”, they pointed out.

From the municipality of Cordovan, in the same sense, declared that it had adopted “the claim to the National Government for a federal ticket and greater equality in the distribution of transportation resources ”.

“The new rate has been in effect since three cities expect a larger contribution from the Nation as a transportation subsidy, equivalent to its value of 18 pesos paid to the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. Is it established in a joint document confirming the claim?

According to the latest cost study conducted by the Rosario Mobility Entity (EMR), the ticket price should be $ 105.60, superior to current values. In that sense, they stressed that “the difference will be borne by municipalities and companies.”

Among the factors affecting ticket prices, they regarded as “determining” the progress of inflation, and pointed out that the 50% increase in fuel so far this year “represents the biggest impact on the system, added the ongoing increasing basic inputs, such as maintenance of units and the salary of staff ”.
