The consumer confidence climb in May for the first time since January according to the monthly index prepared by Di Tella University. that variable grew 1.6% compared to April, after a three -month decline.
After rising 6.3% in January, consumer confidence dropped 1.8% in February, 6.4% in March and 3.2% in April.
In terms YoYthe indicator will also be visible this month increase of 2.4%according to the Finance Research Center (CIF) of the University’s Business School based on surveys conducted between May 2 and 11.
Sebastián Auguste, director of the CIF, explained that if it is broken down by region, the index fell 0.6% in Buenos Aires, while inside the rose 3.5% and in Greater Buenos Aires it showed a positive variation of 2.8%, always relevant to May 2021.
The various parameters that make up the confidence index showed different monthly variations: while the “personal situation” dropped by 0.4% and the “macroeconomic situation” dropped by 2.7%, ”durable goods and real estate “up 11.4%compared to last month.
“With the income level, which is in line with the education level, confidence for low -income consumers decreased by 0.5%, and increased by 3.5% for high -income consumerswith respect to last month’s measurement ”.
