Trade unionist Marc Rangé is interested in the presidency of the FTQ

Another candidate may seek the presidency of FTQ, following the departure of Daniel Boyer in November. Marc Ranger, former Quebec director of CUPEadmitted to being “in true reflection” on this subject and being “very tempting”.

On Tuesday, Magali Picard, former national executive vice-president of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC), expressed his interest in the presidency of FTQ. If elected, she would be the first woman to head the largest trade union center in Quebec.

Two from CUPE?

Denis Bolduc confirmed on Tuesday that he will seek a renewal of his term in office in the central congress in November.

Marc Ranger first introduced himself to the public during the fight CUPE for pension plans in the municipal world, when the Liberal government enacted on the matter.

The FTQ has more than 600,000 members, making it the largest labor federation in Quebec.
