Income tax: the Government has formalized the changes and the new threshold has come into force

10 days after the announcement, the Government formalized the changes to the income tax and the new threshold remained in force. From this Wednesday, the new Irpef threshold applies for the fourth category, which covers the salaries of employees with dependency relationships and pensioners. With these changes, the non-taxable minimum went from $ 225,937 to $ 280,792.

In this way, and as the Minister of Economy Martín Guzmán announced at a press conference, from June the new plan of the Income tax, as was made official this Tuesday through the Official Gazette.

In the Decree 298/2022, with the signature of the President Alberto Fernández; of the Chief of Staff, Juan Manzur and of the Head of the Treasury Palace, Martín Guzmán, it was sealed what will be the limit by which the gross salaries from this tax will be reached in this fiscal period.

The new non-taxable minimum of $ 280,792 will apply “for gross monthly salaries and / or salaries accrued starting from June 1, 2022 inclusive”, reads the document.

For those who exceed this amount but do not exceed a fee exceeding $ 324,182 inclusive, the AFIP “will be responsible for establishing the related additional deductible amount, as provided for in the second part of the penultimate paragraph of letter c) of article 30 of the tax law” .
