Thanks to this amendment, which applies to wages accrued from 1 June 2022 and is already in force, workers with Monthly wages up to $ 280,792 gross will pay no tax.

General resolution 5206/2022 was signed by the director of the Federal Administration of Public Revenue (AFIP), Mercedes Marco del Pont, three days after the sanction of decree 298/2022.

The AFIP regulation “exempts the half bonus that will begin to be paid in the coming weeks from the calculation of personal income tax”, as was officially announced. It also imposes a “special deduction” for those earning a monthly salary between $ 280,792 and $ 324,182.

Article 4 of the resolution warns that “theWithholding agents must generate an additional settlement with regard to the remuneration and / or salaries accrued from 1 June 2022 that had been paid for that period before the publication of this resolution, in order to determine the differences which, in application of the amounts established by Legislative Decree 298/22, would be been generated in favor of the eligible subjects “.

In case of differences, these “will be reintegrated in the first remuneration and / or will have to be paid starting from the effective date of this general resolution”.

The level of remuneration from which Earnings is taxed increased twice in 2021. It first reached $ 150,000 gross in June and then an advance was paid due to the annual increase, which brought the value, in September, to $ 175,000.

After these increases, from January 2022, according to the annual update required by the Income Tax Act, the amount has risen to 225,937 dollars. Law 27,667 gives the executive branch the power to increase, during fiscal year 2022, the amount that has now been raised to $ 280,792.
