Although the government has authorized a 12% increase in the value of dieselin Misiones the increase was much higher and the state oil company markets the premium version at 201 pesos in the provincial capital and $ 211 at gas stations in the interior. The increase is 20.21% for the Infinia Diesel and 16.5% for the Diesel 500.
If the percentage announced in Buenos Aires had been applied, the values at the pumps local would be $ 141 and $ 183.5 for common and premium diesel, respectively.
The new prices appeared on the billboards and pumps this Thursday around 5pm and took motorists by surprise, who have to go to the various vending machines daily to refuel.
The common diesel marketed at $ 126 per liter and now costs $ 146.80; while the more refined version went from $ 167 to $ 201 per liter. In other words, the increases range between $ 20 and $ 34 per liter.
Prices are even higher at the pumps within Misiones. There, the Infinia Diesel jumped from $ 178.40 to $ 211 because the state oil company had already tweaked prices between 4.25 and 4.76 percent on Sunday.
The increase came after the government ordered an increase in the biodiesel cut from 5 to 7.5% of the total volume of diesel for 60 days. and exceptionally. He also created the Internal Fuel Supply Incentives Regime (Riaic), under which refineries can request to pay liquid fuel and carbon dioxide taxes on diesel imports.
Last week, the president of the YPF, Pablo González, was in Misiones, who was supposed to hear the request from Governor Oscar Herrera Ahuad. The president complained not only about the shortages, but also about the price differential imposed on foreign vehicles.
The governor did not hesitate to call the measure “crazy” because it leaves the application of the provision in the hands of the players. “It puts the ball in the field of gas station employees and will not solve the shortage problem,” said Herrera Ahuad. And he added that this decision “encourages smuggling even more, no doubt”.
With this new increase in fuel, filling a truck’s tank at AMBA pumps costs nearly $ 3,000 less than in Posadas, and the difference rises to $ 3,600 when refueling at a pump in the interior of the province.
