Amid the shortage of diesel throughout the country, the pampean deputy of Juntos Martín Maquieyra presented a draft declaration at the headquarters to warn about supply problems in the country but especially in his province.
“The situation in the province of La Pampa is increasingly alarming, it has gone from yellow to orange”, warns the deputy.
According to a report by the Argentine Federation of Freight Transport Enterprises (FADEEAC), there are 21 provinces with supply problems, including La Pampa. In the latest document, that province made its situation worse and turned orange.
According to Maquieyra, on his tours of the province “agricultural producers tell me that the context is becoming more and more difficult, as the late harvest of corn begins in July, and this will further complicate the situation”.
“The last campaigns in the field have been with extremely high yields, this generates a greater use of transport and also a greater use of diesel. The agricultural sector needs bulk fuel,” he adds in the draft resolution.
Maquieyra argues that “the agro-industrial complex, in addition to being the first currency generator in the country (since every $ 100 that enters the country, $ 64 comes from this activity) is, in turn, a born consumer of diesel as it requires 28% of the total amount of this fuel nationwide, mainly between April and June and between December and October “.
The presentation of the opposition deputy also asks that the chief of staff, Santiago Cafiero, appear before the Deputies to give explanations and account for “the progress of the government, in particular, on the public policies adopted and to be adopted to resolve this situation. . “
The lack of diesel in the country
According to Fadeeac data, there are 21 provinces with supply problems. The body prepares a map with the responses of road hauliers and owners of some of the 4,400 SMEs that make up the 43 transport chambers gathered in the body. With this data, a “virtual traffic light” was created which aims to monitor in real time the availability of fuel in Argentina. The data as of June 15, with over 1,100 responses processed, produced the following results:
