Wages of domestic workers are not expected to rise in July. However, for those people who pay monthly, the increase applied in June will be reflected. And in this sense, it is also expected that the Ministry of Labor will keep its promise to convene the National Labor Commission in private homes to the second fortnight of the month, with the aim of closing the joint 2022-2023.

It should be noted that the negotiation of this activity is directly linked to the meeting of the Minimum, Vital and Mobile Wages Council, envisaged by the work portfolio led by Claudio Moroni for the first half of July.

The equivalent of 30% must be applied to the minimum wage established for each of the categories, with respect to staff serving in La Pampa, Río Negro, Chubut, Neuquén, Santa Cruz, Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and the South Atlantic Islands. , or in the Patagonian Party of the Buenos Aires Province.

What happened in the pandemic with domestic workers

In the first months of 2020, the main economic activity was working in private homes with 16.7% of active workers. However among the first quarters 2020 and 2021, over 350 thousand workers in the industry they lost their jobs, in the midst of the first and second coronavirus waves.

According to the latest report presented by the Directorate of Economy, Equality and Gender, the sector most affected by the pandemic was that of private domestic workers, since one in three of them lost their jobs.
