Gustavo Beliz: “The knowledge economy requires political sobriety and an emotionality that overcomes the crack”

Gustavo Beliz, Secretary for Strategic Affairs of the Presidency, participated this Tuesday in the Democracy and Development cycle, organized by Clarione.

The knowledge economy requires political sobrietyability to agree, to dialogue, an emotionality that overcomes the crack and an ability to listen to the other with empathy, that the other may be right in many respects and that it is not impossible in our country to agree on issues of bottom when it comes to a different model of social inclusionBelize said.

In addition to the national official, the first table entitled “The necessary framework” includes the Head of the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta: the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Daniel Filmus; and the national deputy Luciano Laspina; and the president of Argencon, Sebastián Mocorrea.

Béliz spoke of the consensual reflection of some of the initiatives carried out within the Economic and Social Council and of his management of international funding as part of his duties in the Executive, where he marked the “enormous opportunities” that are generated for the country .

There he listed food security, based on the scenario generated by the post-pandemic and the war in Ukraine; energy security, where he stressed the need to deepen Vaca Muerta’s resources and expand the matrix by incorporating knowledge; and a social inclusion of working class neighborhoods, based on a digital approach.

The second part of the meeting is dedicated to the protagonists of the sector. Argentina has already spawned 12 tech unicorns, companies worth more than $ 1 billion. This segment will be attended by the founders of some of the most important companies in the sector: Martín Migoya, from Globant; Alex Oxenford of DeRemate, OLX, Alpha Capital and LetGo; and Emiliano Kargieman, of Satellogic.

Also Juan Martín de la Serna, president of the Mercado Libre Argentina; Damián Scokin, CEO of Despegar; Wanda Weigert, Executive Director of Globant Argentina, and Marcelo Carrique, President of Bioceres.

“Knowledge economy for development“, is the topic that will be discussed in the third chapter of the” Democracy and development “cycle of this 2022, organized by Clarín, which will take place on Tuesday 14 June.

This is the fourth edition of “Democracy and development”. Like the previous ones, it will be in the Malba auditorium. This year will be a cycle of 7 events on what consensus the country must reach to achieve sustained growth that values ​​and is fueled by exports and supports the internal market.

This year’s focus is “The engines of Argentina’s growth” and is sponsored by Pan American Energy, Techint, Globant, Banco Macro and Telecom. Next Tuesday 12th the third D&D 2022 talk will be held, entitled “Knowledge Economy for Development”, which, like the previous ones, will be in the auditorium of the Malba Museum.

This year, the cycle aims to discuss how to get Argentina back on the road to development. The first two meetings have already taken place.
