Pension reform clearly remains one of Emmanuel Macron’s priorities. During his interview on July 14, the Head of State called for the first entry into force of his reform in the summer of 2023.
“The social partners did not want us to approve the reform this summer”, but “the discussion must begin at the beginning of the school year”, first in a “strategic and general framework with all the active forces of the Nation”, then through the “ I work with the union and employer forces” and finally “with the political forces in Parliament” so that “from the summer of 2023 we have a first entry into force,” he indicated.
However, the President of the Republic did not give details on the content of the reform, in particular on the sensitive issue of retirement age, “we must work more”, he reiterated, “taking into account the long career and hard work” .
“We must carry out this reform,” he said, recalling having promised during the presidential campaign to “raise the legal exit age to 65 years,” compared to the current 62, at a rate of “4 months per year” until ” mid-2030s.”
And add that it was necessary to improve the quality of work, improve the work of the elderly.
