“We had a hard time believing it!”: an Airbus made an Agadir-Paris flight with only two passengers

A French couple found themselves alone on an Air France flight between Morocco and Roissy after the cancellation of their initial Transavia flight.

After a week’s vacation in Morocco, Thomas and Julie returned to France on Wednesday on an Agadir-Paris flight. But no other tourists boarded with the couple. The two French were in fact the only passengers, reports Progresswhile the Airbus A319 could hold up to 140 people.

Air France recognizes the “problematic” character

Information confirmed by Air France on Parisianwhich justifies such support for the strike of Transavia, the group’s low-cost subsidiary.

“Originally, a flight was set up to serve Transavia customers whose flight between Paris and Agadir was cancelled. We wanted to respond as a priority to this one-way flight to save their vacations,” justifies the Airline company.

However, Air France acknowledges the “problematic” nature of the flight. Because the carbon footprint of the operation is disastrous. According to the two newspapers, which are based on Air France’s carbon calculator, about 9,000 liters of kerosene were needed to make the trip between Morocco and Roissy.

In the air, Thomas and Julie were able to enjoy themselves. The captain would have abandoned the announcements on the microphone to tell them “out loud the flight plan, the weather during the trip and the time of arrival in Roissy”. According to the couple, Air France stewardesses even treated them to a champagne dinner.
