Fans, fruit, ice cream… During the heat wave, sales skyrocket

Rising temperatures benefit certain weather-sensitive products such as fans, soft drinks and even ice cream, sales of which have soared since the beginning of July.

Appliances are not the only ones to benefit from rising temperatures. In periods of high heat, the diet changes and the French readily resort to refreshing products, such as fruit. At the head of the product categories whose turnover increased the most at the beginning of July, we find, as expected, sun protection products (+45%), followed by energy drinks to drink (39.4%), frozen specialties (+36.5%), soft drinks and carbonated fruit drinks (+36.1%) and mayonnaise (+33.4%).
