Strikes: Ryanair says it has reached an agreement with French and Spanish pilots

The pilots of the two countries of the low-cost company had announced a strike for this weekend. The Belgian pilots, also on strike, do not seem to be worried.

Relief for the thousands of vacationers who have to fly with Ryanair this weekend? The company announces that it has reached a 5-year salary agreement with the French and Spanish pilot unions.

The latter had announced a strike on July 23-24 (for French pilots) and July 25-28 (for Spanish) in order to obtain immediate salary increases and better working conditions.

The company indicates in a press release that the agreement notably provides for a return to wages prior to the COVID-19 health crisis, when employees had accepted pay cuts for the company to keep its head afloat.

Threats to leave Belgium

Belgian pilots, also on strike on the same dates as their French counterparts, do not appear to be affected by this agreement.

According to SurInfo, the Irish company called on independent pilots to avoid total paralysis in Belgium. The company on your side threatens to leave the country if this strike continues.
