This lunar story is reported by Europa 1. On July 14, an acting agent thought it was funny to scare a young Air France passenger en route to Réunion by whispering “Watch out, there’s a terrorist on the plane.”

The young woman then repeats this warning to her parents, who repeat it to the agents on board the plane who refer to the captain. As a result, the flight is canceled after police checks.

Up to 5 years in prison

The flight was postponed for the following day, Air France explained to our colleagues that “due to the suspicion of a malicious act”, the crew decided “in accordance with the established security procedures (…) to proceed with the security inspection by the police. During this inspection no real threat was observed.” Problem, by the time it takes place, the crew has reached the “commitment regulation time” forcing the company to postpone the flight.

The agent, taken into police custody, indicates that he wanted to “joke” and “not harm anyone.” The bad prankster is accused of “obstructing the movement of an airplane” and risks a sentence of up to 5 years in prison and a fine of 18,000 euros. For Air France, the cancellation of this flight cost 550,000 euros and therefore decided to file a complaint.
