“The battle for employment is key for me in the coming months”, in the face of the “crisis” that threatens, warned the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron during a trip to the Pyrenees.
During an exchange in Argelès-Gazost with a businessman specializing in renewable energies who told him about his difficulty in contracting, the head of state called for “an organizational and cultural change” and “mobilizing everyone”.
“The battle for employment is key for me in the coming months. It is the one that will also allow us to finance what we need to be able to withstand the crisis”, explained Emmanuel Macron.
“There are many jobs”
He hammered: “If those who work don’t say loud and clear that they have activity, job offers in all sectors, construction, restoration, tourism… Then there are jobs, low-skilled and skilled, because there are also jobs in the industry that are free, there are plenty”, he insisted.
“We cannot say that in our country we would be hooked and that somehow we must have a system of subsidies. It’s not possible. We have to say it loud and clear, we have to dare to say it. he continued.
Emmanuel Macron announced on July 14 his intention to present a text of labor reform legislation “starting this summer”, which represents a surprising acceleration of the calendar on this issue, in particular on a new reform of unemployment insurance.
Reform
In Argelès-Gazost, Emmanuel Macron exchanged with the residents and in particular with the farmers, before listening to some traditional songs, which he sang with the choir, wearing a beret on his head.
“My presence among you has no other purpose than to show you my affection, my attachment to our Pyrenees,” he proclaimed, alluding to his family ties with the region, since his grandmother lived in Bagneres-de-Bigorre.
The Head of State, who had recently visited the Tarbes Sports Factory, an old industrial building rehabilitated into a sports complex, then joined the 18th stage of the Tour de France linking Lourdes with Hautacam, the last mountain stage of 2022 edition.
