The Minister of Economy, on the other hand, is not in favor of an increase in the unit value of the ticket.

The executive seems to have decided on the issue: he is in favor of increasing the daily cap on restaurant tickets. Guest of BFMTV this Friday, Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire confirmed his support for an increase from 19 to 25 euros, also promoted by the opposition.

Set at 19 euros, the ceiling had been raised to 38 euros in March 2020, to face the confinement. This duplication had been revamped throughout the pandemic, to allow employees to use them with greater flexibility.

But on July 1, this threshold had returned to its initial level and it was no longer possible to use tickets on weekends.

There is no increase in the amount of the ticket

For her part, the Bercy tenant was very clear about a possible increase in the face amount, refusing it. “I look at what has a budgetary cost with circumspection,” she explained.

And for good reason: if employees and employers share the cost of the ticket (between 50 and 60% for the company, the rest for the employee), the latter can benefit from an exemption from social contributions, if they offer a title whose value in short, it is between 9.48 and 11.38 euros. They can exempt up to 5.69 euros per ticket.

This bonus is the responsibility of the public authorities, and Bercy does not want to generate additional expenses in a budgetary context that is already complicated.
