The Minister of Economy, Bruno Le Maire, said this Saturday that he was in favor of increasing the discount per liter in the price of fuel from 18 to 30 cents, in a compromise with the deputies Les Républicains, who called to go “further” .
The oil giant has promised a discount at the pump of 20 cents per liter between September and November (then 10 cents until the end of the year), in the face of the threat put forward by the deputies of a tax on “superprofits”.
A specific measure for “small rural stations”
Bruno Le Maire also proposed to the LR deputies the “postponement” of the transport fuel subsidy (ICT), aimed at large passengers and the working classes, but criticized by the right that calls for a “generalized” measure.
The Minister of Economy also mentioned a specific measure for “small rural stations”, a provision also required by the LR.
The LR group, satisfied with these announcements, withdrew its amendments, paving the way for the adoption of the discount.
