Inflation accelerates to 6.1% year-on-year in July

Inflation accelerated again in France in July, to 6.1% annually, according to an initial estimate published on Friday by INSEE.

Therefore, the 6% bar has just been crossed, because inflation in June in one year was 5.8%.

According to the statistics institute, the rise in inflation is due to an acceleration in the prices of services in relation to the summer period, food and, to a lesser extent, manufactured goods. While energy prices, which have been rising for several months, should finally experience a slowdown due to the price of petroleum products.
