While sunflower oil “has gradually returned to the shelves”, the head of the E.Leclerc centers denounces the unjustified price increases demanded by manufacturers from distributors.

“Sunflower oil: shortage, really?”. In a message posted on Facebook, Michel-Edouard Leclerc once again denounces the methods of sunflower oil manufacturers who, according to him, have presented fallacious arguments to demand price increases in recent months:

However, “sunflower oil has gradually returned to the shelves”, says the head of the centers E.Leclerc. And that despite the fact that “there has not yet been a new harvest. Not in Canada, not in France, not in Ukraine. And, in any case, no industrialist has had time to make new oil with new grains. Here here… .”.

“We have to ask ourselves the question of the morality of this story”

Michel-Edouard Leclerc says however not to “seek controversy, neither with our suppliers nor with any parliamentarian”.

“But without offending certain politicians or industrialists, from the moment that we, merchants, at home, in our brands, are required to increase prices, it would be good if the ‘advocates of the public interest’ raised the question of the necessary ‘transparency’ provided for by law, and speculation”, continues who had requested “an investigation commission on the origins of inflation”.

Because when “in these opaque conditions, private sector professionals advocate a food check paid for with public funds to compensate for the increase in prices, we must – it seems to me – ask ourselves the question of the morality of this story.” Am I wrong?” concludes Michel-Edouard Leclerc.
