While the period of the financial results of the companies continues -and in particular those of the CAC 40-, the new Finance Commission of the National Assembly, chaired by Insoumis Éric Coquerel, intends to get down to work from the beginning of the school year with various reports, in particular on corporate profits.
“We will start at the beginning of the school year. First there will be a ‘flash mission’ on the taxation of super profits, in which all parliamentary groups will be represented,” explains the deputy in an interview with Les Echos. “In theory, it should present its conclusions before the finance bill arrives in the Assembly in early October.”
Next will be a fact-finding mission on corporate taxation. “There is a big difference in taxation between SMEs and large companies. That is a theme. It is not normal for SMEs to pay more taxes than large companies” continues Éric Coquerel. This mission “will start in the fall” and “must be completed after six months.”
TotalEnergies in the viewer
The deputy took the opportunity to directly accuse TotalEnergies, which has not paid corporate tax in France in recent years, due to lack of benefits. “These companies make big profits, pay big dividends and receive public money. I don’t think they have activities without benefits in France”, he assures.
In addition, the Finance Commission will launch “a cross-sectional report” on tax evasion. “It is the deputy of the LFI, Charlotte Leduc, who will work on this issue with the media related to this type of mission. This will allow us to have an in-depth job that, in my opinion, will produce its effects to the extent and at the time “, assures Eric Coquerel.
