Traffic on TER and TGV trains was interrupted on Tuesday south of Bordeaux due to a fire that broke out in mid-afternoon near Dax in the Landes, SNCF learned. .

At 5:30 p.m., the fire had destroyed 30 hectares of pine trees and mobilized two Canadairs, a Dash plane, about 170 firefighters and a dozen gendarmes, according to the Landes prefecture, which announced the department’s move to red surveillance (level 4 of 5) due to fire danger starting at midnight Wednesday.

Another fire had occurred in the morning after having covered 300 hectares since Sunday in the pine forest in the extreme north of the department, on the border with Gironde, also on red alert due to fire risk.
