Before meeting with the government, Argentine rural confederations (CRA) analyzed the new measures launched by the new Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, and stated that the field needs a dollar similar to the MEP or blue to anticipate the liquidation of the harvest.

“It will be essential to ask How will they promote higher grain sales relative to the dollar received for exports?which should not be called soybean dollar, but rather a dollar at market prices, i.e. close to the MEP, CCL or Blue, which he is the only one who can change the incentiveswhether it is gearbox splitting or whatever you call it, compared to the official one “, considered the rural entity commanded by Jorge Chemes.

Therefore, for the union, any incentive that is a transitional dollar or a dollar close to “solidarity”, today of $ 229 / USD, against the MEP dollar (exchange) of $ 282 / USD, is clearly a disincentive.

This Friday it is expected that the Government and the liaison table will meet to advance a work plan following the appeal made by Massa to rural entities this Wednesday during the press conference. The time and place have not yet been confirmed, but the farmers are expected to be received by the new Secretary of Agriculture, Juan José Bahillo.

“Exporters will settle $ 5 trillion in the next two months. But most of those dollars are grains not regulated by producers, so the mechanism is not clear, nor the incentives,” the entity fired.

Incidentally, Bahillo previously noted that “it is logical for the producer to keep part of the cereal, in an unstable market and with expectations of change “and clarified:” I do not say in exchange but with some precautions that can improve the value of the dollar for which they are satisfied. In an inflationary context it is understandable that they hold back “.

He stated that the “increased competitiveness of the dollaris one of the main demands of the sector and he stressed: “They are proposing that it is necessary to generate macro predictability and stability, because these market movements of the last few weeks generate speculative logic”.

“The first thing that needs to be wiped off the horizon is the issues that cloud the decision-making process and generate calm so that there are no shocks in these indicators. And that the producer makes the decision knowing he won’t regret it next week. for some sort of variation, “he said.

When asked about the alleged higher profits the sector would have, following the increase in the value of cereals internationally following the war in Ukraine, he replied: “When the big improvement in prices came, a huge percentage of producers had already sold the grain and could not take advantage of the price advantage. The manufacturer sold before that improvement and couldn’t catch it“.

Finally, he pointed it out they will try to improve the conditions for accessing the agro dollar: “They are thinking of improving the system, particularly the settlement process, of the manufacturer’s access to that system. Make it more direct and avoid steps that made it unattractive to the manufacturer from an operational point of view.”
