After days of back and forth over a disputed area, finally Darío Martínez will leave of the Secretary of Energy and with him the Undersecretary of Electricity Federico Basualdo, as Clarin might confirm. Instead Flavia Royón enterswho until now has been Minister of Energy and Mines of the government of Gustavo Saenz in Saltaally of Sergio Massa.

This is how the reorganization in a sensitive secretariat was defined. Basualdo, a man who replied to Cristina Kirchner, had remained in office even when former Economy Minister Martín Guzmán decided to fire him. Eventually he left and the Kirchnerism hard palate technician continued until now.

The reformulation of the energy policy – with a greater removal of tariff concessions – indicated that Sergio Massa intended to move forward in the Energy Secretariat. Martínez took office in August 2020, replacing Sergio Lanziani and under the orbit of former minister Matías Kulfas, of productive development, who was not even able to tame the weight on the ground in that key sector.

Basualdo, for his part, had been the main affront to Guzmán, who asked for his expulsion and met with resistance from the vice president. This escalation lasted and eventually led to the hasty resignation of the minister who negotiated the debt with the IMF in the administration of Alberto Fernández.

His replacement will be Santiago Yanotti, currently vice president of Cammesa (Managing Company of the Wholesale Electricity Market).

Prior to joining the Sáenz cabinet, Royón worked in the Financing and Investment Promotion area of the governor’s office. According to his Linkedin profile, he came from the private sector, as a consultant “in the beef, beef and export markets”.

Finally, the changes were published by Massa, on his Twitter account, as he has done since before taking office.

“I announce that from tomorrow Flavia Royón will join the team as Secretary of Energy, accompanied by Santiago Yanotti as Undersecretary for Electricity, Federico Bernal as Undersecretary for Hydrocarbons and Cecilia Garibotti as Undersecretary for Planning”. the minister posted on his social media.

There he revealed another stranger in his organization chart. Federico Bernal, another exponent of La Cámpora in the sector, passes from the controller of Enargas to that of Undersecretary for Hydrocarbons.

Massa also announced the incorporation of Cecilia Garibotti as Undersecretary for Planning. And she thanked him, in other places, for the services provided to displaced officials.

News in development.
