Russia and Ukraine signed two separate agreements on July 22, validated by Turkey and the United Nations, allowing Ukrainian grain exports blocked by the war since February 24 and Russian agricultural products despite Western sanctions.

Eight ships set sail

The Razoni, a Sierra Leonean-flagged cargo ship that left the Ukrainian port of Odessa on Monday, August 1 with 26,000 tons of corn and should have docked this Sunday in Tripoli (Lebanon), has not yet reached its destination. According to the Embassy of Ukraine in Lebanon, “the final buyer in Lebanon refused to accept the cargo due to delayed delivery times (five months).”

“Therefore, the sender is looking for another recipient. It may be in Lebanon or in another country,” the Ukrainian embassy added on Twitter. A total of eight ships have set sail since the deal was signed, Ukrainian officials said Monday morning, with the hope that three to five ships could leave daily within two weeks.
