The president of the Rural Society, Nicolás Pino, said so on Tuesday “for once” “the basic problems are solved so that Argentina begins to grow” and warned that “it is very difficult to work with inflation of $ 60 or 70%” in the round of talks Democracy and development organized by Clarin.
“What we discussed with colleagues from the Liaison Table is that, to move forward in Argentina, we have to get out of the problems of the situation. We have to solve basic questions like the solution of macroeconomics because it is very difficult to work with inflation of 60%. 70%. It’s basic. Plus It is essential to avoid all such problems as export duties, two exchange rates or trusts. These things don’t help us project ourselves at all, “Pino said.
Among the questions to the government’s policies, the rural leader emphasized the retentions which, he stressed, “they lack legality and it is unconstitutional to do so”.
“A lot happens in Argentina, taxes that stand for a while and remain, like the tax check,” he said as an example, adding: “It’s easier than it sounds, you need to get organized. There are examples of this, of having lifted the foot and the production has grown immediately. “

Pino, who is an agricultural producer and sells beef by family tradition, has been president of the Argentine Rural Society for almost a year (he will make it next month) after defeating Daniel Pelegrina in 2021.
The leader assured that the sector no longer makes requests “for specific business issues”. “We ask for freedom, for the constitution to be respected, for the three powers to be independent. We have stopped asking only about the situation and we are above “, she remarked.
Agricultural Production Technician of the Catholic University of Argentina, Pino was already a member of the SRA board during the Biolcati and Etchevehere administrations. In the opening speech of the last Rural Exhibition in Palermo, with his characteristic sober style, the leader spared no criticism for the current situation of the sector he represents, but he also threw political darts at the government.
On the one hand, he emphasized it “Today withholding taxes are illegal and unconstitutional” and that “seven out of 10 dollars of foreign currency entering the country are generated by the countryside. But he also called for” the balanced functioning of the three powers, to prevent Congress from becoming an employee of the Executive Power, to ensure that the judiciary is independent”.
The fourth speech Democracy and development, called Agroindustria per lo Sviluppo, takes place, like the previous ones, in the auditorium of the Malba Museum. The debate is how to increase these exports and continue to add value to them. And how to promote other items, such as wine, fruit or finished foods.
Mario Ravettino: “The state must be convinced and allow us to exploit what we know how to do”
The president of Consortium ABC (Consortium Beef Argentina), Mario Ravettino, warned that the development of the meat supply chain will not pass through the internal market and focused on the importance of making the most of export opportunities.
“We have shared responsibilities: the state must be convinced and allow us to exploit what we know how to do, at a time when the world needs energy and animal proteins”, underlined Ravettino.

And I add: “The state must take care of informality, we have informality in meat exports and this cannot happen and we have to work on it “.
ABC is an entity formed by the main exporting refrigerators in Argentina that was born in 2005 as a derivation of the old AIAC (Association of Argentina Meat Industry).

Ravettino questioned what he considers an “export restriction policy” and asked the government to understand the needs of a sector that is “ready to accompany it”.
Ravettino is responsible for a sector, that of meat exports, which is experiencing a good commercial moment: in the first six months of the year, foreign sales of Argentine meat reached 426,000 tons of bovine weight for a value of 1,762 million dollars. . This represents a 2% increase in volume and 40% in foreign currency over the same period in 2021.
As a member of the Argentine Agro-Industrial Council, he regularly participates in the rounds of dialogue and negotiation on the sector.
