Corrosion problems: EDF will extend the closure of five nuclear reactors for several weeks

Five French nuclear reactors, affected by corrosion problems, will see their shutdown extended for several weeks this fall, EDF said Thursday, in a national context of extremely high tensions in electricity supply. The group maintains its forecast of nuclear production for 2022 between 280 and 300 terawatt hours (TWh), although this production “probably” could reach the bottom of this range, according to a spokesman.
